A short DVSA CBT guide and overview of what riders should expect when then complete their Compulsory Basic Training (CBT) with their local motorcycle training school. CBT includes five elements: (1) Introduction and eyesight check, (2) Practical on-site training, (3) Practical on-site riding, (4) Practical on-road training, and (5) Practical on-road riding. Participants move from one element to the next only when their motorcycle trainer is happy that the have understood the theory and demonstrated the practical skills to a minimum basic/safe level. The CBT practical on-road element will usually last for two hours and should include a maximum of two students per instructor.
