The overview covers the two parts of the theory test – multiple choice, hazard perception and how both parts need to be passed to gain an overall test pass. During the multiple choice part, participants are asked fifty questions. 43 must be answered correctly to pass and all theory questions are based on the Official Highway Code, along with Know Your Traffic Signs and The Official DVSA Guide to Riding.
14 video clips
It is highly recommended that theory test ‘students’ should practice using one of the many theory test tools, before they complete their actual test. During the hazard perception part of the theory test, participants will be shown 14 video clips and will be awarded points in relation to their ability to correctly identify developing road safety hazards. During this part of the test, the required pass rate is no less than 44 out of 75. The theory test is valid for two years.
