Top tips - Leaving MOD 1 test area

Leaving the MOD 1 test area is an important exercise. The Module One test ends when the candidate leaves the Motorcycle Manoeuvring Area to park up (outside the gates). The examiner continues making assessments and there is still room for error. MOD 1 candidates must avoid rushing or being complacent. Having parked-up, the student will be invited into the test centre for test results, feedback and paperwork. As follows are some instructor top-tips on how to best leave the MOD 1 test area:

  • Select 1st gear & carry out rear observations
  • If safe, ride forward & through gates
  • Park as instructed or in a safe place
  • Stop, select neutral & put bike on stand
  • Dismount & await further instructions
