Fully marshalled 100-mile charity ride
We just wanted to give an enormous shout-out to Claire Flatt, a local nurse who was introduced to us by Laura Smith of Women Only Motorcycle Training. We have been lifted by Claire’s bravery, positive attitude, zest, strength and refusal to be defined by a cervical and breast cancer diagnosis.
Despite this ‘curve ball’, several operations, radiotherapy and chemotherapy, Claire choose to be empowered and over the last 12 months has raised more than £20,000 for cancer charities. Claire is currently on a mission to raise funds for Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust – the UK’s only charity dedicated to the very significant numbers of women who are affected by cervical cancer every year.
To this end, Claire has teamed up with Women Only Motorcycle Training for the seasons last charity bike ride. On Sunday 7th October at 11am, bikers from the local motorcycle community will meet at RMT Motorcycle Training, before setting off for a planned and fully marshalled 100-mile charity ride through the beautiful Cotswolds, with coffee breaks and a meet after at The Harvester (The Dog) in Redditch.
The event has attracted a great deal of local media support, along with commercial sponsorship in the form several attractive raffle prizes. Claire and Laura are inviting participating riders to donate £10 to join the ride or to simply embrace what this event stands for by giving a donation (however small) through Just Giving.
Claire and Laura – we wish you success with your charity motorcycle ride and we hope that the local biker community will be present in significant numbers to raise funds for this worthy cause, plus in support of Claire’s phenomenal example and all she stands for.
Well done both!
