MCIAThe MCIA is the UK’s motorcycle sector trade body and has been in operation for over 100 years. The MCIA has a very broad remit in protecting, promoting and communicating the agenda of the UK motorcycle, scooter and Powered Light Vehicle (PLV) industry. Through a variety of initiatives, campaigns, events and services, the MCIA provide members and the industry with invaluable support.

The MCIA represents the interests of 85% of the industries supply chain – including motorcycle manufacturers, motorcycle importers, motorcycle accessory companies, component suppliers and various other associated companies. [more]


MCIA RIDE industry approved motorcycle trainingMCIA RIDE is an MCIA initiative, that is raising motorcycle training standards throughout the UK. The ‘scheme’, whilst endorsed by the Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA), is not compulsory.

Approved Training Bodies (ATB’s) – more commonly referred to as Motorcycle Training Schools, can ‘volunteer’ to participate with the MCIA RIDE approval process. Successful MCIA RIDE results in the ‘award’ of either ‘standard’ or ‘gold’ certification, with resulting ‘approval marks’, that can be displayed on corresponding websites and literature. [more]
