MOTORCYCLE INDUSTRY ASSOCIATION (MCIA)
The Motorcycle Industry Association (MCIA) is the UK’s motorcycle sector trade body and has been in operation for over 100 years. The MCIA has a very broad remit in protecting, promoting and communicating the agenda of the UK motorcycle industry. Through a variety of initiatives, campaigns, events and services, the MCIA provide members and the industry with invaluable support.
The MCIA is reported to represent the interests of 85% of the industries supply chain – including motorcycle manufacturers, motorcycle importers, motorcycle accessory companies, component suppliers and various other associated companies. [more]
MOTORCYCLE INDUSTRY Accreditation Centre (MCIAC)
The Motorcycle Industry Accreditation Centre (MCIAC) is an MCIA initiative, designed and intended to raise motorcycle training standards throughout the UK. The ‘scheme’, whilst endorsed by the Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA), is not compulsory. Approved Training Bodies (ATB’s) – more commonly referred to as Motorcycle Training Schools, can ‘volunteer’ to participate with the MCIAC accreditation process. Successful MCIAC accreditation results in the ‘award’ of either ‘standard’ or ‘gold’ certification, with resulting ‘accreditation marks’, that can be displayed on corresponding websites and literature.
